Vintage Rural England Creamer by W.R. Midwinter circa 1932-1946

{HISTORY}

A scenic painting of a rural English country scene complete with farmer and animals, is the subject of this lovely little creamer made by W.R. Midwinter in Burslem, England. One of Britain's leading potteries in the mid-20th century, Midwinter was a family business that began in 1910 by William Robinson Midwinter and enjoyed a 77-year run before closing doorsin 1987.

This creamer was madeĀ between 1932-1946 and is beautifully handpainted. From the floral trim around the rim, and handle to the highly detailed imagery on the bulbous belly of the creamer, this little server pulls in a range of colors that will coordinate with all the seasons year-round. Hues include pale blueberry, cinnamon, spring green, chocolate, pale raspberry, and butter.Ā  Ā Animals include cows, chickens and a bull. Extra scenery details include a birdhouse, haybales, an open-air barn, a pond, a farmhouse, clouds, and lots of lovely trees.Ā
