{HISTORY}
Champagne is fun and festive no matter what the occassion, but pair it with this set of four French hand-painted flutes and you have a stunningĀ collaboration on your hands. Or should we say, in your hands. First started by husband and wife team, Pierre Perrier and Rose Adelaide Jouet, in the early 1800's, Perrier-Jouet created the first true champagne made from chardonnay grapes in the Champagne region of France. With Rose in the vineyard and Pierre in the sales office, they united their passion for nature and art by creating a wineĀ that would soon become favored by enthusiasts around the world.Ā Exported first to Britain and then to the US between 1814-1837, Perrier-Jouet quickly became a favoriteĀ among the upper echelon of society including royal families and American business tycoons.Ā
In 1964,Ā Perrier-Jouet introduced theirĀ Belle Epoque collection featuring beautiful floral artwork by Emile Galle which was painted in 1902.Ā Appearing on both wine bottles and glasses, these flowers quickly becomeĀ anĀ iconic symbol of the brand capturingĀ the essence of the real Belle Epoque era (1871-1914). This was a moment in history caught between wars, which represented hope, peace, and emphaticĀ appreciation for the cultural arts and innovation - all characteristics that were important to both Pierre and Rose the century before.Ā Ā Admired as much for its physical aesthetic, as well as its long history and flavorful contents, Perrier-Jouet continues to enchant wine enthusiasts around the world.Ā
