Vintage Gold and White Porcelain Trinket Dish Made in Japan for Ardalt-Lenwile NYC circa 1950s

Vintage Gold and White Porcelain Trinket Dish Made in Japan for Ardalt-Lenwile NYC circa 1950s

{HISTORY}

Made in midcentury Japan and imported to New York City for the giftware company, Ardalt-Lenwile, this beautiful 1950s gold and white trinket dish features the loveliest shape and size. With a scalloped rim, shimmery golden leaf design, and cute ear-shaped handles, this little dish has a unique mini bathtub-like appearance and an elegant aesthetic.

Originally, it would most likely have come with a matching lid, but somewhere along its 70-year journey, the lid was lost to time and adventure. No matter though. This little container is a true delight for all sorts of practical uses these days. It can easily hold a bar of soap or a kitchen sponge. Or a batch of sugar, tea, or instant espresso packets. It also makes a great spoon rest while cooking, a safe place to store jewelry while doing dishes, a petite garden container for succulents, or a holder for business cards, recipes, or spare change.

Other uses abound too. Incorporate it into your dishware collection as a server for olives, nuts, candy, lemon slices,  honey, chocolates, berries, cookies or jam. Corral your dessert spoons. Collect your wine corks. Contain your cocktail picks.

Around here we just love dishes like this. They are the true workers of the kitchen with the ability to be so useful for just about any occasion while also always looking effortlessly stylish each and every time.

This little charmer looks marvelous when paired with an array of other mismatched gold and white dishes like this antique tea set, and this vintage dinnerware set.
