Vintage 1950s Fire King Mini Refrigerator Dish Peach Blossom Pattern
{HISTORY}
A pretty worker of the organized fridge, this vintage mini refrigerator dish was the mid-century pre-cursor to Tupperware and modern-day plastic storage containers. Once part of a set that included a matching square mini and a larger rectangular dish, each piece in this trio would have also come with a clear glass lid for easy storing and stacking.
Made by Anchor Hocking in the 1950s for their dependable and beloved Fire King line, this mini dish features the hand-painted Peach Blossom pattern with shades of sage, salmon, pale lemon, and chocolate.Ā With the ability to go from fridge to oven to table, mini dishes of this size and shape were indispensable in the kitchen when it came to food prep, ovenware, serveware, leftover food storage, and kitchen organization.Ā
Deemed the "over-built ovenware," Anchor Hocking's Fire King line, popular from the 1940s-1970s, was built to last. So confident in its ability, Anchor Hocking offered money-back guarantees or replacements should a dish meet its ultimate demise, even after years of use.
This mini fridge dish is missing its original lid, but that doesn't detract from its pretty appeal nor its ability to still be very helpful in the kitchen. We adore dishes of this 4Ć4 size for serving snacks, hors d'oeuvres, relishes, condiments, and dips. They are also handy during food prep for pre-measured ingredients, and for use as presentation dishes on charcuterie boards and tea trays,
