Antique Cake Plate with Green and Gold Stripes

With its kelly green stripe, gold handles, and embossed leaves and flowers, it is pretty for year-round table service but especially beautiful at Christmastime. Imagine it hosting fluffy coconut lamingtons, a frosted layer cake, or sugar cookies dusted with holiday designs. 

Thanks to its classic design, this plate looks gorgeous with other mix and match vintage pieces that carry a similar color palette. 

Interesting in both design and composition this plate features a mixture of both porcelain and semi porcelain applications. The rim area is made of thin porcelain with a thicker semi-porcelain composition in the center of the plate, making it heavier than a traditional all-porcelain plate. Although it is unmarked on the back, this design is very similar to a Haviland Limoges pattern that dates to the late 1800s.

In beautiful antique condition. There are no chips, cracks or stains. The kelly green stripe is bright and crisp. there is some slight rubbing of the gold detailing on the handles.
