Antique 1920s Homer Laughlin Clover Dinner Plates in the Hudson Shape circa 1920 - Set of Two

Antique 1920s Homer Laughlin Clover Dinner Plates in the Hudson Shape circa 1920 - Set of Two

{HISTORY}

Beloved American pottery Homer Laughlin has been sharing meals with eaters for over a century.  These two dinner plates have too.

Made in 1920, each plate features a delicate red clover flower and green leaf design that was simply known as Pattern H-133 in the Homer Laughlin in-house catalogue of pattern designs. Edged in gold with a scalloped rim,  these plates were part of the H.L.’s Hudson shape which included a wide array of different patterns and pieces.

Weathered to perfection and speckled with staining that outlines areas of intricate crazing, these dinner plates feature all the wonderful hallmarks of delightfully aged 105-year-old dishware. Containing just the right amount of a shabby chic aesthetic, these are the kind of plates that add instant character to your table, cupboard, or wall display.

In the language of flowers, red clover symbolizes love, protection, prosperity and good fortune.  All ideal words to describe how life in the kitchen and around the table should feel or could feel as you endeavor to build your cooking skills, expand your culinary horizons, and feed your friends and family.

Often incorporating gold detailing in different florals and flourishes, the Hudson series makes for especially fun dish collecting in mix and match fashion these days.
